Bright Horizons provides the following confidential and free services:

Individual Advocacy

bullet Individual support, education, and information concerning domestic and sexual violence
bullet Referrals to other service providers in the community for financial, housing, legal, counseling, and educational assistance.
bullet Bilingual translation and services provided for Hispanic domestic and sexual violence victims

Shelter Services

bullet Confidential shelter facility for those fleeing an unsafe situation
bullet One-on-one advocacy with a case manager helps one to assess their situation, evaluate options, and make safe decisions
bullet Groceries and personal supplies are provided as needed
Support Group
bullet Weekly peer support group for women who have experienced domestic violence
bullet Free child care is provided
bullet Call the Bright Horizons office at 379-2026 in Norfolk and 336-1774 in O'Neill for meeting time.

Community Education

Provides community education concerning:

bullet Domestic and dating violence, sexual assault
bullet Healthy Relationships and other related topics
bullet Bullying, Feelings, Good Touch and Bad Touch for elementary schools
bullet Free educational materials available

Protection Orders

bullet Application forms for Domestic Abuse and Harassment protection orders are available at Bright Horizons offices
bullet Assistance with forms and application process is available
bullet Provides support at the protection order hearing if requested

Criminal Justice and Legal Advocacy

bullet Accompany victims through the court process if requested
bullet Includes both criminal and civil proceedings related to domestic violence and sexual assault
bullet Working toward reform of legal procedures and related laws in Nebraska
